Workshop 09: Planning successful Digital Twins: From Use Case to Implementation Strategy

Workshop description
The workshop explores why successful digital twin initiatives require more than technology alone. Participants will consider the relationship between the problem being addressed, the intended use case, available data, stakeholders and organisational readiness, before exploring wider implementation considerations including interoperability, governance, workflow maturity, scalability, resource implications and long-term maintainability.
The session combines a guided presentation and practical case study examples with a structured group exercise. Working in small groups, participants will develop a strategy for a digital twin scenario. Beginning with the problem and intended outcomes, they will identify key stakeholders, consider information and data requirements, explore implementation challenges and develop a phased roadmap for delivery and future development.
Participants will also be provided with access to a sandbox environment, together with relevant Bentley and Cesium learning materials and resources, allowing them to explore the concepts and workflows introduced during the workshop in their own time.
